A note from Uniquely, I Do regarding same sex marriages in
Washington State
A bill to legalize same-sex marriages in
Washington State passed the Legislature and was signed by
Governor
Gregoire on February 13, 2012. Same sex marriages were to
be performed starting on June 7, 2012, and later repealed. We
are currently awaiting official word that R74 has passed.
UPDATE 12/06/2012: MARRIAGE LICENSES ARE
NOW AVAILABLE TO SAME SEX COUPLES!
Uniquely, I Do's wedding officiants have
always offered ceremony services to same sex couples, even
though they were not allowed to 'legally' declare a couple
married.
Rev. Stacey Miles, owner of Uniquely, I Do,
is proud to see Washington's laws changed. "I am a supporter
of love and marriage and happily ever after. To know that all
couples of legal age will now be afforded the same marriage
rights makes me very happy," she says, eager to sign her first
same sex marriage license.
